Introduction

Welcome to the International Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery ("ISCRS," "we," "our," or "us") mobile application (the "App"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the App and related services.

By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.

If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Eligibility

The App is intended for use by healthcare professionals, including but not limited to:

• Ophthalmologists and eye care specialists
• Medical professionals attending ISCRS conferences
• ISCRS members and conference attendees
• Medical students and residents in relevant fields

You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

Account Registration

To access certain features of the App, you must create an account. When registering, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

Use of the App

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the App for your personal, non-commercial use.

Permitted Uses

You may use the App to:

• Access conference schedules and program information
• View and interact with educational content
• Network with other healthcare professionals
• Submit abstracts and membership applications
• Access journal articles and research materials
• Communicate with other users through chat features

Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your identity
• Upload, post, or transmit any harmful, offensive, or illegal content
• Interfere with or disrupt the App or servers
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App
• Use automated systems to access the App without permission
• Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Remove any copyright or proprietary notices
• Use the App for any commercial purpose without authorization

User Content

The App may allow you to post, upload, or share content, including but not limited to messages, stories, photos, and other materials ("User Content").

Your Rights

You retain ownership of your User Content. However, by posting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display your User Content for the purpose of operating and promoting the App.

Content Standards

Your User Content must not:

• Violate any laws or infringe on any rights
• Contain defamatory, libelous, or false information
• Include hate speech, harassment, or discrimination
• Contain medical advice or patient information
• Include spam, advertising, or promotional content
• Violate intellectual property rights

Content Moderation

We reserve the right to review, edit, or remove any User Content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate these Terms.

Intellectual Property

The App and its content, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, software, and other materials, are owned by ISCRS or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works, publicly display, or exploit any content from the App without our prior written permission.

Medical Disclaimer

The App is designed for healthcare professionals attending medical conferences. The App provides conference information, schedules, and networking tools.

The App does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment recommendations, or clinical decision support.

For patient care decisions, always consult appropriate medical guidelines and exercise professional judgment. The content in the App is for informational purposes only and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

By using the App, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the App at any time, with or without cause or notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion feature in the App.

Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease. We may delete your account and User Content, subject to our data retention policies and legal obligations.

Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Warranties of merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of content

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ISCRS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

• Your use or inability to use the App
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers
• Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the App
• Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful code
• Any errors or omissions in any content
• Any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of your use of the App

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ISCRS and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the App, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Iraq, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Iraq.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• Posting the new Terms in the App
• Sending a notification through the App
• Updating the "Last Updated" date

Your continued use of the App after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
